The Street Machine Gt Luggage Racks

The Street Machine Gt luggage racks

Ready for Helloween ;-) For the Street Machine Gt we have developed a set of extremely strong racks. The rear wheel carrier is very light and manufactured from high-strength aluminium tubing. It is finished with a strong, black powder-coating.

The 12mm tubing is welded in a very rigid triangulated construction. This enables you to safely carry heavy loads on your bike - the rack is designed to support a load of up to 25 Kilos.

The bags are protected from abrasion on the wheel by vertical supports. At the lower end of the rack is a curved tube for fixing the security hooks of your bags.

So that the suspension can operate on the wheel effectively, it is important to keep the unsuspended mass as small as possible. For this reason the rack is mounted on to the seat tube and the suspension pivot point of the bike and gives plenty of clearance for the 85mm travel of the rear triangle.

Alternatively you may also opt for the Speedbag, our aerodynamic rear trunk.

Sights... Björn with the Street Machine Gt in front of the Alte Oper in Frankfurt/Main, Germany Together with our Lowrider under the seat you can easily carry four large pannier bags - a lot of luggage space for really long tours.

Because of the new design of the suspension pivot the racks are very easy to fit. First fit the top of the rack to the mounting points at the top of the seat tube. Then remove one of the screws from the end of the axle pivot and offer up the lower end of the rack. Replace the screw using the longer ones size M8x45 we supply with the rack. Tightening force is 18 Nm, secure the screws with Loctite. Then repeat for the other side. The lowrider rack is mounted to the same points with an extra brazed on support under the main tube.
